Episode 23: Courtney Christenson
“You simply can’t hate people into loving each other.”
When I read those words, I knew I wanted to hear more from the woman who wrote them in a recent article detailing her experience of trying to stand in the gap between a clash of protesting Neo-Nazis and Anti-Fascists in Portland, OR. Just a week later she found herself in a similar set of circumstances in Seattle, WA.
Courtney Christenson is a Digital Communications Officer in the United States for the Preemptive Love Coalition where she is helping to ‘wage peace ‘ here in the United States. You will be really encouraged today as you hear the heart and thought processes of someone just like you and me who, despite facing uncertainty and fear, decided to love others anyway.
I also think it’s a rare chance to hear the personal experiences of someone on the ground of the scenes we see playing out on the news feeds across America. Someone who’s agenda is to model a third way of loving others…that “Us vs. Them” is a false choice.
I hope you enjoy today’s podcast episode and that you’ll do yourself a favor and follow along in the future with the work that Courtney is doing with Preemptive Love Coalition and the creative work she develops with her husband Gary. Beautiful stuff!
