Episode 22: Wm. Paul Young

When you sell over 25 million books…without meaning to…well…that’s a story that I want to hear more about.  But even more than the story…I want to hear what’s in the heart and life of the guy who has walked that journey.  That’s exactly what we have the opportunity to do today as William Paul Young joins us on the Fearless Questions Podcast.

As many of you will be familiar…Paul Young is the author of The Shack, (also now a major motion picture) Cross Roads, Eve, and his latest book called Lies We Believe About GodWhile we touch a little bit on The Shack in our conversation, a large portion of our time together is spent discussing the ideas in Paul’s latest work.

The new book takes on 28 different, but commonly held beliefs relating to God that Paul believes simply aren’t true.  From politics to love and from child sacrifice to Santa Claus…no conversation is avoided.  I like how Paul puts it:  “The goal of the book isn’t controversy, but conversation…Mostly, it’s about the unconditional, relentless, and everlasting love of God”.

If you’ve ever had questions about what God is really like…I think today’s conversation will capture your heart’s attention and reignite the hope that maybe God really is loving all of the time.

Paul’s work has touched me deeply on a personal level and I hope you enjoy listening to our conversation.

Blessings,

Jeff

P.S.  You’ll want to jot down questions that come up for you during the conversation to come back and think on later.  Let me know if you’d like any help clarifying or desire further interaction on any of the areas Paul covers today.
